For May's First Friday Artwalk we are celebrating the works of two wonderful artists.
Abstract art speaks to the viewer on a deeply personal level. To fall in love with an abstract piece of art is to see something in it that no one else sees.
Amy Dixon is known for her larger than life, bold abstract paintings. Her works are enjoyed in collections all across the country. Each piece starts as a flat canvas on her wall that she pours herself onto in an expressive colorful way.
Scott Penegar is a highly collected sculptor who is known for his realistic marine life carvings, but his latest series of abstract sculptures is a wonderful display of skill and artistic vision. He hand picks each stone and let's the nature of the stone shine as he carves it into unimaginable shapes.
Opening Reception: Friday, May 1st 5-8pm
