Larry Horowitz is an American landscape painter born in 1956 in New York City. Horowitz graduated from SUNY Purchase and immediately won the prestigious and coveted position as apprentice to Wolf Kahn. While under Kahn’s tutelage, Larry developed his own color pastel sticks which he sold to artist superstars Willem de Kooning, Frank Stella, Wayne Thiebaud, Jennifer Bartlett and Jim Dine among many others. He says this experience creating pigments based on the formulations of the Old Masters gives him a unique perspective of combining past and present. Larry Horowitz currently shows in galleries across the United States and in Canada.
