"The Dream" is a vertical, oversized format original oil painting on canvas by Indian artist, Tanvi Pathare. Measuring a custom stretched size of 60 x 43 inches, this painting is framed in a tradition silver leafed frame measuring overall at 65 x 48 x 1 inches. As a graduate and now Primary Instructor at the Florence Academy of Art in Florence, Italy, Tanvi shows her masterful hand in capturing the traditional style of old masters. She breaks away from tradition, however, by stepping away from the darker palettes for a lighter one.
This painting was inspired by a dream that I experienced. It involved me swimming alongside all the creatures in the world, in a stream, and the stream eventually ascended up to the sky. I wanted the viewer to experience the same emotion. Enjoyed combining the realism of the figures with the otherworldly, surreal, abstract rendition of the space around her. Hopefully rendering the half awake, half asleep state of the human mind." -- Tanvi Pathare on "The Dream"
