"Be Daring" is a monumental horizontal abstract diptych by one of America’s top collected artists, Amy Dixon.
Customarily, Amy paints first on loose canvas, then these two pieces have been custom stretched size at the artist's final vision of 48 x 36 in. each.
Each piece is framed in it’s own champagne floater frame with each final piece’s overall dimensions coming to 50 x 38 x 2 in. They are sold only as a pair for the price of $7300 total.
This abstract painting of bold and lively colors set on a gray and blue backdrop gives the allure of an ethereal dream for the viewer to enjoy. Dashes of corals, reds and soft aqua applied with some drips create depth and brings the eye in to follow the movement of the energetic composition.
Born and raised in Louisiana, Colorado-based artist Amy Dixon studied studio art and painting at the Newcomb College of Tulane University, and completed her post-graduate studies at Studio Art Center International in Florence, Italy. In addition, she has taken masters classes with Kim English in Denver, as well as participated in workshops by Wolf Kahn in New York. Her work has twice been featured on the front cover of The Aspen Times, and the February/March 2014 edition of Traditional Home. In addition, Dixon has published two books with Pelican Publishing Co, "The Cajun Night After Christmas," and "Who’s Tripping Under My Bridge?"
Amy creates a particular dialogue with the viewer as her work embraces the uncertainties life has to offer and an inquisitive eye. In order to create movement in her work, she focuses on living in the present moment and following her creative impulses as she encounters them.
